SWEDES FALL TO OUR LADY OF THE LAKE IN LOW-SCORING AFFAIR

San Antonio, Tex. - The Bethany College Baseball team headed south for a 10-hour drive down to San Antonio, Texas to match up against Our Lady of the Lake University. In the first game of the series pitching stood out on both teams. Unfortunately the Swedes would fall short in this pitching dual losing 3-1 in seven innings.

Judd McCall got the call for the game 1 start and dealt for six innings allowing six hits, three runs, five strikeouts, and one walk.

The Swedes only run came in the 5th inning when third baseman Luis Ramos  smacked a home run to left field. Ramos went deep for the first time this season and went 1-2 on the day.

Offensively the Swedes tallied 5 hits in the game with Joseph Rivera leading in hits going 2-for-3 at the plate. Luis Ramos, Randy Good, Caleb Copeland all had one hit in the game.

The Swedes could not get the timely hit they needed in the game and had plenty of opportunities to do so. Our Lady of the Lake University kept the door open until the very last out, but pitching and defense would save the Saints to hold onto the 3-1 win.
