Softball Held in Check by No. 1 OLLU

Softball opened their Spring Break trip with NAIA No. 1 Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) in San Antonio, Texas. The Tigers dropped the opening game 3-0 and fell in the nightcap, 9-1 in five innings.

In the opening game, Abbi Arroyo threw a season-high 5.2 innings as she allowed three runs on seven hits with three strikeouts. 

The Tiger offense was held hitless in the game and drew two walks. Jeryn Allen and Jaiden Papik each recorded a stolen base in the game.

Doane took the early lead in game two as Katelyn Hays hit the first collegiate home run of her career, a solo shot in the first inning. OLLU came back with two runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead.

Hays' home run was the Tigers only hit of the game. In the pitcher's circle, Faith Molina went 4.0 innings, allowing six runs on four hits and four walks. Hannah Kline threw 0.1 inning, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk.

Doane will look to bounce back on Wednesday afternoon, March 13, as they take on Texas A&M-San Antonio at 3 PM.
