Jags fall to OLLU in non-conference bout
The UHV baseball team fell in 10-3 in a non-conference tilt with Our Lady of the Lake on Tuesday at Riverside Stadium.
A six-run first inning by the Saints (18-19, 9-12) doomed the Jaguars (24-10, 12-6). UHV committed two errors in the first inning while OLLU notched five hits.
The Jaguars were able to cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the first inning with RBIs from Raul Lopez, Juan Martin and Kaden Fikac. Martin highlighted the inning with a triple to score Hayden Leopold.
Leopold has now hit safely in the last six games for UHV.
Raul Lopez's season-leading hit streak of 19 games came to an end on Tuesday.
Jacob Baker suffered his first loss of the season after allowing eight runs on eight hits in one inning pitched.
Carson McKenna threw a career-high six innings with a career-high six strikeouts, allowing only an unearned run.
UHV travels to Austin to face Huston-Tillotson in a three-game series, starting at 6 p.m. on Friday.
