Pilot Men's Basketball Falls Late in Second Half to Our Lady

Shreveport, Louisiana— In a closely contested basketball matchup, the LSU Shreveport Pilots faced a tough challenge against the Our Lady of the Lake Saints, ultimately falling short with a final score of 86-90. The game featured intense back-and-forth action, with both teams showcasing their offensive capabilities. With the loss the Pilots move to an overall record of 15-5 and 10-4 in the Red River. 

  

**First Half: Pilots 38, Saints 33** 

The Pilots initially found themselves trailing early, going down 4-0. However, they quickly bounced back, orchestrating two eight-point runs to take the lead. The Pilots and Saints engaged in a closely contested battle throughout the first half, with the Pilots leading 38-33 at halftime. In this period, the Pilots went 15-35 from the field, connecting on four three-pointers and making four free throws. Meanwhile, the Saints were 11-37 from the field, hitting one three-pointer and converting 10 free throws. 

  

**Second Half: Saints 90, Pilots 86** 

As both teams entered the second half, the intensity continued, and the Pilots maintained their lead for the initial 12 minutes. However, the Saints mounted a comeback, bringing the game within one point. In the final three minutes, the Saints seized control, stealing the lead from the Pilots and securing the victory with a final score of 90-86. 

  

**Individual Performances:** 

Six Pilots made significant contributions, with Tyler Washington leading the scoring efforts. Washington put up an impressive 22 points, going 9-15 from the field, including four three-pointers. Additionally, he secured a double-double with 14 rebounds. Damon Davis closely followed with 15 points, shooting 5-6 from the field, making one three-pointer, and going a perfect 4-4 at the free-throw line. Davis also contributed seven assists and three steals to the game. Melvion Flanagan added 13 points, sinking three three-pointers and going 4-4 at the free-throw line. Jalen King contributed 12 points, while Jordan DeCuir and Calvin Carpenter each chipped in with 10. 

  

The Pilots will be back in action Saturday February 3rd as they face RRAC opponent Huston Tillotson. Tip-off is set for 4:00pm CT from The Dock in Shreveport, Louisiana.
