OLLU's Sweeney and Torres Receive Red River Track and Field Weekly Awards
WACO, TEXAS (April 2, 2024) – Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week have been announced for March 25-31 with this week's honorees including Our Lady of the Lake University's (OLLU) Kristen Torres for track and Victoria Sweeney for field. This is the fourth set of track & field weekly awards for the 2024 RRAC outdoor season.
Torres placed first in the 5,000-meter run at the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas. The junior from San Antonio posted a time of 17:42.76, breaking the school record in the process. Torres defeated a field of 38 competitors.
Sweeney claimed seventh place in the javelin at the Bobcat invitational. The junior from San Antonio delivered a throw of 34.30 at the event. Sweeney also placed 30th in the long jump.
