SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The defending conference champions started the new RRAC season much like where the left the previous one – in the win column. A&M-Texarkana improved to 7-0 this season and opened RRAC play with a pair of wins over A&M-San Antonio and Our Lady of the Lake.
Eagles 1, TAMUSA 0
Johanna Rodriguez (3) scored the game-winner in the 60th minute off an assist from Paige Haderlie (1) for the only score of the tightly-contested match. The two teams combined for just 10 shots on goal. Ivana Robinson made four saves and kept a clean sheet to earn the win.
Eagles 2, Our Lady of the Lake 0
Robinson picked up her third shutout win of the week but didn't have to make a save against OLLU to do so. Alicia Loera (2) opened scoring in the 10th minute off an assist from Rodriguez (2), and Alyssa Daily (3) added an unassisted goal in the 86th minute to seal the win.
