National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Champions of Character
The NAIA Champions of Character program aims to instill five core values in NAIA athletes, coaches: respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership, and sportsmanship. Our Lady of the Lake University shares and supports these values and strives to promote the Champions of Character program by working with students, coaches, and staff through our Champions of Character educational programs.
As an NAIA institution, Our Lady of the Lake University has developed a Champions of Character® program that includes:
- Ongoing character education for all student-athletes to promote the five core values in accordance with the NAIA.
- Professional development for coaches and athletics administrative staff on an annual basis.
- Completion of
- An emphasis on hospitality, proper game management and exemplary conduct in competition.
- Ongoing assessment of progress in the program's implementation.
The Champions of Character program is designed to instill an understanding of character values in sport, and provide student-athletes, coaches/staff, and community the training to help them succeed inside and outside of competition settings. OLLU and the NAIA are committed to advancing character-driven athletics.
