Bio

PATTY CONSTANTIN joined the Marketing and Communications staff of Our Lady of the Lake University in February 2006, and soon took over sports information duties. In September 2013, she was named Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications: News and Sports Information. Her responsibilities include marketing and publicizing the athletics program. Her sports information duties include managing all aspects of the athletics website; writing and/or editing content; designing graphics for social media, the website and print; statting all home games for baseball, basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball; gathering stats and results for all other sports for submission to the NAIA and the Red River Athletic Conference; managing the social media accounts for athletics; creating and publishing videos; and managing the live-streaming program.

Constantin also provides support to the university's Marketing and Communications department. She edits copy for promotions and is also a media spokesperson for the university. 

In 2014-2015, 2015-2016 and 2018-2019, Constantin was named the Red River Athletic Conference's Sports Information Director of the Year.

Constantin has 37 years of experience in communications. After graduating from college, Constantin relocated to Washington, D.C., and worked for the U.S. Navy publication, Surface Warfare Magazine, where she served as assistant editor. She then transferred back to San Antonio as a management assistant at Kelly Air Force Base. While at Kelly, Constantin wrote news stories, briefings and speeches for the directorate's military officers. She was a regular contributor to the base newspaper, Kelly Observer.

Constantin left civil service and joined the communications and marketing staff of the University of Texas at San Antonio's Institute of Texan Cultures. While there, she served as the media spokesperson for the Institute as well as for the Texas Folklife Festival. She remained with UTSA for close to eight years.

In 2000, Constantin was hired as a public relations representative for SeaWorld San Antonio and later worked in advertising and media promotions. In 2004, she became SeaWorld's education and special markets representative.

Constantin grew up just three blocks from OLLU, where she lived for 30 years. She attended Christ the King Catholic School and Incarnate Word High School. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees - both in English-Communication Arts - from St. Mary's University.

Constantin is an avid reader and a diehard New York Yankees fan. Her 26-year-old daughter, Julianna Elia Burrus, is a graduate of The Atonement Academy. In May 2019, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from St. Mary's University. She is pursuing a master's degree in social work from OLLU.

Constantin is married to Daniel Constantin. Both are members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes, Texas. Her husband is the father of Melanie Flanagan and Robert and Stephen Constantin. The Constantins are also the parents of Mini-Pin Teddy (6-years-old) and grandparents to German-Shepherd-mix Bear (7-years-old).
