Saints Down Jarvis 14-0 in RRAC Championships

STERLINGTON, LA. (May 7, 2023) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) baseball team defeated Jarvis Christian University (JCU) 14-0 in an elimination game in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Championships on Saturday. JCU was eliminated while the Saints moved on to play in an elimination game on Sunday.

Head Coach Matt Piker commented, "The team did great today. The goal is to keep playing with the position that we are in. We are still alive and that's about all you can ask for. Tomorrow will be a tough test but I'm excited to get this team back on the field and in the fight."

The Saints were 15-14 against the Bulldogs prior to the game.

Basics

The Saints strung together 15 hits and 14 runs to eliminate JCU on Saturday afternoon. Jackson Kalisky started the scoring for the Saints with a two-run home run to bring in Caimyn Holiday in the third inning. OLLU went up 4-0 in the sixth inning with a two-run RBI from Jonathan LaCourse. The Saints piled on 10 runs in the seventh inning to run rule the Bulldogs 14-0. Eight different players recorded at least one hit and Kalisky finished with four RBIs. LaCourse added three RBIs and Holiday batted 3-for-5. Alec Martinez pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts to earn the win.
