OLLU Cheer's Skylar Lloyd Earns Academic All-District Honors

SAN ANTONIO (May 23, 2023) –Competitive Cheer's Skylar Lloyd of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) has been selected to the 2022-2023 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team. The program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

College Sports Communicators (formerly the College Sports Information Directors of American – CoSIDA), such as OLLU's 17-year member Patricia Constantin, submit nominees for consideration. The organization boasts more than 3,000 members, and all are eligible to vote for all sports teams each year.

As an Academic All-District® honoree, Lloyd will advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.

The Competitive Cheer program was started at OLLU in the 2020-2021 season, and Lloyd was a member of the inaugural team. She was part of the team that earned its first-ever National Cheerleading Association (NCA) national bid in 2022, and again this past season. The event in 2022 was cancelled due to covid, but they were able to compete this past April in Daytona Beach and placed fifth. Lloyd has been instrumental in the team's success as team captain, and she has earned Scholar-Athlete honors every year she has been at OLLU.

Lloyd is majoring in mathematics, and she earned a 3.62 GPA.
