
Four from OLLU's Spirit Team Receive NAIA Scholar-Athlete Recognition
KANSAS CITY, MO. (March 29, 2024) – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2024 Daktronics NAIA Competitive Cheer and Dance Scholar-Athletes on Thursday. Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) congratulates Cheer's Skylar Lloyd, Angelina Ochoa and Ember Sandoval, plus Dance's Bianca Rodriguez.
The 2024 list honors those who achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
Skylar Lloyd, who is a senior from Eagle River, Alaska, earned a 3.51 GPA. This is her second consecutive award. Angelina Ochoa, a sophomore from San Antonio, earned a 4.0 GPA. Ember Sandoval, a sophomore from Eagle Pass, Texas, earned a 4.0 GPA. Bianca Rodriguez, a sophomore from San Antonio, earned a 3.83 GPA.
