Saints Men Conclude Schreiner Shootout in Fourth Place

KERRVILLE, TEXAS (March 7, 2023) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's golf team finished in fourth place out of eight teams after two rounds of play at the Schreiner Shootout. The tournament ran from March 6-7 at Comanche Trace Golf Club.

Head Coach Arnie Martinez said, "The men's team had a better showing this week. It was nice to see them bounce back from the last tournament. Comanche Trace is a good test and our guys made good decisions and executed well. They did a good job of managing the course. We didn't win but there are a lot of positives we are taking from this week."

The University of Houston-Victoria took first place with a total of 285/282=577. Concordia University Texas finished in second place at 299/288=587, followed by Schreiner University at 292/292/288=872 and OLLU at the fourth spot at 292/298=590. California Lutheran University completed play in fifth place at 301/298=599, followed by Texas A&M University-San Antonio at 304/302=606, Northeast Community College at 311/303=614 and McMurry University at 310/305=615.

Massimo Garcia led the Saints in fourth place with a total of 72/73=145. Oliver Gaisford and Victor Pena Cortes followed tied for 10th place at 73/74=147. Brandon Lopez took the 25th spot at 75/77=152 and Sergio Garcia finished in 30th place at 74/81=155.
