VICTORIA, TEXAS (Oct. 17, 2023) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's golf team finished in a tie for fifth place at the UHV Fall Classic sponsored by the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV).

Head Coach Arnie Martinez commented, "It was a tough one out there for our men. We got off to slow starts on both days and this made it difficult to catch up. Victoria Country Club is a tough course and a very good test of golf. The weather conditions were windy, which made it more difficult. I'm proud of how our guys grinded through the whole event. Unfortunately, we couldn't get enough putts to drop. When we get four guys to play well on the same round, we will win events. We've done it before, and we know what we need to work on to get back there. We need to keep learning and getting better. There are a lot of things that they did well out there period. We will continue to build on those and focus to improve our weak points. Go, Saints!"

The Saints shot a first-round 318 and second-round 310 on the first day, and returned today to a 312 for a final of 940. They tied with Blinn College (B), who shot a first round 314, second round 316 and final round of 310 for 940.
