Men's Golf Concludes Schreiner Invitational in Fourth Place

KERRVILLE, TEXAS (March 5, 2024) - The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's golf team took fourth place out of eight teams at the Schreiner Invitational after two rounds. The tournament was hosted by Schreiner University (SU) at the Comanche Trace Golf Club, which has a par of 72 and is 7,059 yards.

Head Coach Arnie Martinez commented, "I'm proud of how our guys competed. We struggled on the first day with speed control on the greens and committed to our shots. They bounced back on day two and played better. Trusting how good they are is key in how they execute. Congrats to Victor Peña Cortes on his second place finish along with his hole in one. Oliver Gaisford also had a good tournament finishing in 11th. We continue to work toward posting four good scores on each round. We've been working hard and we will continue to improve. The next event in Laughlin will be a great test. We will be ready for it. Go Saints."
