Saints Golf Honors Seniors at Golf Club of Texas

SAN ANTONIO (April 22, 2024) The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) golf team honored the Senior Class of 2024 on Sunday at the Golf Club of Texas. Seniors recognized included Christina Trujillo, Matthew Cantu, Sergio Garcia, Madelyn Miller, Ceci Lattuada and Massimo Garcia.

Christina Trujillo joined the team in 2020 and is pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems and Security. She is a native of San Antonio, where she graduated from Johnson High School. She has been a multiple Dean's List recipient and a three-time Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Scholar-Athlete. She was part of the team that placed third in the conference in 2022 and 2023. In addition, her teams are three-time NAIA Scholar Team honorees. She has played in 14 tournaments at OLLU.

Matthew Cantu joined the team in 2020 and is pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems and Security. He is a native of Corpus Christi, where he graduated from Moody High School. He is active in the CyberSaints Computer Programming Club. He was a part of the team that placed second in the conference in 2021, 2022 and 2023. He is a four-time RRAC Scholar-Athlete recipient. He has played in seven tournaments at OLLU.

Sergio Garcia joined the team in 2020 and is majoring in Criminal Justice. He is a native of Kenedy, Texas, where he graduated from Karnes City High School and transferred from William Baptist University. He was part of teams that were tournament runners up and NAIA Scholar Teams in 2021, 2022 and 2023. He is a four-time RRAC Scholar-Athlete. He has played in 26 tournaments at OLLU.

Madelyn Miller joined the team in 2020 and is majoring in Early Education and Psychology. She is a native of Copperas Cove, Texas, where she graduated from Copperas Cove High School and transferred from Texas Lutheran University. Miller is a multiple-year Dean's List recipient. She was part of the team that was a NAIA Scholar Team in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. In 2022 and 2023, her team placed third in the postseason. She is a three-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete and a four-time RRAC Scholar-Athlete. In 2023, she received Academic All-District honors, and she was named Red River Golfer of the Week in 2022. She has played in 26 tournaments at OLLU.

Ceci Lattuadajoined the team in 2020 and is majoring in Business Administration. She is a native of Tampico, Mexico, where she graduated from Feliz de Jesus Rougier. She was part of the team that placed third in 2022 and 2023 in the conference tournament. In 2021, she was named A.I.I. Golfer of the Week, and RRAC Golfer of the Week in 2022, 2023 and twice this year. She is a four-time RRAC Scholar-Athlete, and a three-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete. All her teams have been NAIA Scholar Teams. In addition, she was her team's Top Saint in 2022 and 2023. She is also a multiple year Dean's List recipient. She has played in 26 tournaments at OLLU.

Massimo Garcia joined the team in 2019 and is majoring in Biology. He is a native of Laredo, Texas, where he graduated from Alexander High School. He has played in 19 tournaments. He has been part of the teams that were runners-up in 2021, 2022 and 2023, and all four of his teams were named NAIA Scholar Teams. Garcia is a two-time Red River Scholar-Athlete. He has played in 24 tournaments at OLLU.

Both the men's and women's teams will participate in the RRAC Championship Tournament hosted by the University of Houston-Victoria in Victoria, Texas, on April 29-30.
