OLLU Men's Soccer Falls To WBU 3-0

PLAINVIEW, TEXAS (Sept. 6, 2022) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's soccer team fell to Wayland Baptist University (WBU) 3-0 on Tuesday. The Saints move to 0-1-1 on the season while the Pioneers improve to 2-1-1.

Head Coach Arthur Salazar said, "It was a dissapointing showing in the first half. We didn't make the necessary adjustments to deal with their technical and dynamic attack, and it cost us. We made some changes at halftime and were more disciplined and left ourselves less exposed."

Basics

The Saints had a tough outing against the Pioneers on Tuesday. Wayland Baptist scored three goals in the first half backed by 24 shots. OLLU totaled one shot and one corner kick in the first half. Carlos Hernandez made eight saves in the first frame. The Saints were able to add four shots in the second half but ended up losing 3-0 to WBU. Joseph Baker took over in net to start the second half and totaled three saves.
