OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (Aug. 29, 2024) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's soccer team fell to Oklahoma City University 8-0 in a nonconference matchup. The Stars improve to 3-0, while OLLU is 1-1. The series between the two teams has the Stars on top 2-6-2.
Head Coach Shane Hurley said, "It was a very dissapointing start to the second half, and we took ourselves out of the game. That's not to take anything away from OCU; they are a quality side. We must and will have a tougher response to adversity."
The Saints had a rough time against the perennial powerhouse Stars. OLLU took four shots in the first half and two fewer in the second half. The Stars logged 13 in the opening period and 17 in the final half.
OLLU keeper, Dominic Pena, showed remarkable resilience, making a career-high 10 saves off of 18 shots on goal. OCU's keeper, Alexis Bertrand, had a clean sheet for his team.
