CHICKASHA, OKLA. (Aug. 31, 2024) - The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's soccer squad lost to the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) 2-0 on Saturday. The Saints fall to 1-2 while the Drovers improve to 1-2-1.
Head Coach Shane Hurley commented, "We were in it but an unfortunate turn of events led to a goal, and we just could not recover."
Neither team scored in the first half. The Drovers put up eight shots on goal compared to OLLU's six. USAO also took seven corner kicks and committed only two fouls. The Drovers had a corner kick and two header opportunities minutes before the half ended. Darko Borisavljevic put the Drovers up 1-0 in the 60th minute. Juan Aviles and Tim Talabi were shown yellow cards in the following few minutes. USAO's offense continued to attack and was rewarded with a goal in the 78th minute. The Drovers 2-0 lead held until the final whistle. The teams traded corner kicks in the final 10 minutes. Dominic Pena was able to make two saves in the 89th minute. The Drovers finished with 10 corner kicks and 24 shots. The Saints had eight shots with four on goal.
Pena finished with eight saves. Angel Diaz picked up the win in net for the Drovers with four saves.
Four different Saints players had one shot on goal. Pena, Carlos Alvarez, Talabi and Stan Driessen all played 90 minutes.

The Saints play at St. Mary's University on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Saints are 1-5 against the Rattlers in the series history.
