Thiago Fernandez Wins Red River Offensive Player of the Week Award

WACO, TEXAS (Oct. 7, 2024) – Thiago Fernandes of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) was recognized as the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 30-Oct. 6. This is the seventh set of conference winners for the 2024 men's soccer season.

Fernandes' outstanding performance, with four goals and two assists, contributed significantly to the Saints' recent success. He helped secure a win and a draw in two conference matches last week. The junior forward from Brasilia, Brazil, netted two goals and chipped in an assist in a 3-3 tie with University of the Southwest, and he had the same stat line in a 4-0 victory over Paul Quinn College. Fernandes climbed to fifth in the conference in goals (6) and points (15) this season. OLLU's current record stands at 2-3-1 in conference play and 3-7-1 on the season.
