Saints Men's Tennis Wins Seventh Straight Match
ALEXANDRIA, LA. (Feb. 23, 2023) - The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's tennis team defeated Dillard University (DU) 4-3 on Thursday. The Saints improve to 9-6-1 overall while the Bleu Devils fall to 0-1. Full results are listed below.
Head Coach Dave Watts said, "The men's team had a dogfight today. We had a bit of a rough start in doubles. Our line one doubles won but we let go of two leads in the other two matches and lost the doubles point. We knew it would take winning four of the six singles lines. We were down 3-2 with two matches remaining and we knew we had our backs against the wall. Chris Doyal fought off four match points to keep the team alive. He went on to win the next two games and won his match, tying the overall score at 3-3. It came down to Murilo Salviato and he was able to finish off his opponent. We are now at seven wins in a row, but our two most difficult matches of the season will be tomorrow when we face William Carey University and Xavier University of Louisiana."
