Men's Tennis Battled at UIW Fall Tournament

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 6, 2024) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's tennis team faced the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) and St. Mary's University (StMU) at the UIW Fall Tournament from Oct. 4-6. The Saints won 12 matches and lost 22. 

Jaroslav Majsajdr won the main draw in the red section after two singles victories. He played doubles with David Ekpenyong and the pair reached the finals of the blue main draw. 

Head Coach Dave Watts said, "This was a tiring weekend for the guys. David Ekpenyong and Aymeric Bruno were banged up from the ITA Tournament and had to withdraw from the tournament early. Both players have nationals next week so we didn't want to take any chances. Ekpenyong made the doubles final with Jaroslav Majsajdr despite having to withdraw. They have been playing very solid doubles lately. Majsajdr had a fantastic tournament by beating some tough UIW players and going undefeated in singles and doubles for the weekend. It's great to see how he is starting to understand how to implement his game on the tennis court."
