OLLU Men Opens Outdoor Track and Field Season at Trinity
SAN ANTONIO (March 3-4, 2023) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's track and field team opened its outdoor season at the Trinity Invitational sponsored by Trinity University in San Antonio.
Head Coach Patrick Torres commented, "We made a statement. Our 4x100m team qualified for nationals at their first opportunity. The sprint squad turned heads with their performance and the other groups had solid openers. We definitely enjoyed the festivities."
Several team members had significant results. Jalen Bell broke the OLLU record in the 100m with a time of 10.77. Bell and teammates Spencer Williams, Rodney Webber and Jesus Riefkhol-Delgado broke the OLLU record in the 4x100m Relay with a time of 41.23. The group also qualified for nationals with their "A" standard mark.
Troy Stinson, Ruben Davis, Anthony Alvarado and Justin Gould broke the OLLU record in the 4x400m Relay with a time of 3:23.33. Victor Delos Santos broke OLLU's record in the discus with a mark of 36.86.
