Paul Minjoth and De'Jon Lewis Win Track and Field Weekly Awards
WACO, TEXAS (April 23, 2024) – Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week have been announced for April 15-21 with this week's honorees including Paul Minjoth for track and De'Jon Lewis for field. This is the seventh and final set of track and field weekly awards for the 2024 RRAC outdoor season.
Minjoth broke the all-time OLLU record in the 800-meter run. The sophomore from Cologne, Germany, raced to a time of 1:53.85 to finish 13th at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight Meet in Houston. He also participated in the 4x400m Relay and the team placed third overall and qualified as an NAIA "A" Standard with a time of 3:15.25.
Lewis placed in the top 10 of both the long jump and triple jump at the Duckett event, which was hosted by Rice University. The junior from New Orleans finished 10th with a 6.76-meter long jump and he was sixth in the triple jump at 13.96 meters.
