OLLU's Hendrick Ramirez Earns NAIA All-American Honors in the 1500m
MARION, IND. (May 24, 2024) – Members of the Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's track and field team participated in the 72nd Annual NAIA Men's Outdoor Track and Field National Championship this week. The men competed in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100mR, 1500m and the Triple Jump.
Hendrick Ramirez made it into the finals in the 1500m after placing first in his heat with a time of 3:53.68. That time propelled him to the finals held today, and he finished in fifth with a time of 3:50.62 to earn NAIA All-American honors. Ramirez also earned NAIA All-American honors in the one-mile event of the Indoor National Championship earlier this year.
Head Coach Patrick Torres commented, "Hendrick Ramirez being an individual NAIA All-American was a clear highlight. As the rest of our opens mature, our national performance will climb as well. A controversial call took our chances at an incredible 4x400m relay, but I am proud of them and the whole squad.
