Saints Men Finish in 13th place at Cowboy Jamboree

STILLWATER, OKLA. (Sept. 24, 2023) – The Our Lady of the Lake University men's cross-country team participated in the 2023 Cowboy Jamboree presented by Oklahoma State University on Saturday morning.

Head Coach Patrick Torres commented, "Our race plan was executed well. I think the team's maturity is developing, and I'm excited about the upcoming postseason."

The Saints placed 13th out of 23 teams in the 8K. Winning the meet was Oklahoma State University with 26 points, followed by the University of Texas with 32 points, University of St. Mary with 113 points, University of Alabama at Huntsville with 121 points, Oklahoma Christian University with 178 points, Oral Roberts University with 196 points, Fort Hayes State University with 202 points, Harding University with 213 points, the University of Texas at Tyler with 223 points, Texas Wesleyan University with 302 points, Texas A&M International University with 338 points, Cameron University with 353 points and OLLU with 373 points. Following OLLU were John Brown University with 397 points, Lubbock Christian University with 434 points, Allen Community College with 521 points, UA-Fort Smith with 525 points, Garden City Community College with 555 points, Southern Nazarene University with 578 points, Mid-American Christian University with 592 points, Jacksonville College with 633 points, UA-Rich Mountain with 660 points and Carl Albert State University with 760 points.

Leading the way for in the 8K for OLLU was Vincent Garza with a time of 27:10, followed by Hector Puente with a time of 28:29, Kruz Malesich at 27:37, Jose Saucedo at 27:52, Tony Favella at 28:12, Anthony Perez at 28:12 and Sebastian Moreno at 29:02.

The Saints will host the Saints Collegiate Cross-Country Invite on Oct. 7 at the Alamo Sportsplex, Culebra Creek Soccer Fields.
