Men's Cross-Country Team is Set to Repeat as Red River Champions

SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 1, 2023) - The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's cross-country team will get set for the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Championships on Friday, Nov. 3 at Texarkana, Texas. The event is being hosted by Texas A&M University – Texarkana.

The men will run the 8K at 10:45 a.m. 

After the meet, TAMUT will present awards to the team champions and runners-up and the All-RRAC Runners, which is comprised of the top 10 finishers. Also awarded will be the Runners of the Year (individual winners), Freshmen of the Year (highest freshmen individual finisher) and Coaches of the Year (winning coaches) plaques.

 

The men's team has won the last eight titles dating back to 2015. Jose Zarate finished as runner-up, while Diego Moran (fourth) and Jayden Turrubiates (fifth) followed. Turrubiates also earned Freshman of the Year honors. All received All-Conference honors and competed in the NAIA National Championships.

Running this year for the men are Tony Favella, Vincent Garza, JoseCarlos Hernandez, Kruz Malesich, Sebastian Moreno, Anthony Perez, Jose Perez, Hector Puente, Sigifredo Salinas, Jose Saucedo,

Teams participating for the men are Huston-Tillotson University, Jarvis Christian University, OLLU, North American University, Paul Quinn College, Texas A&M University – Texarkana and  Xavier University of Louisiana.
