Bio

PATRICK TORRES is in his third season as the Saints' cross-country and track and field head coach.

Torres led both the men and women to their fourth consecutive Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Cross-Country Championship in 2022. Both squads qualified for the NAIA Cross Country Championships and were NAIA Scholar Teams. Torres was named RRAC Coach of the Year for the third consecutive season for both teams.

He led both the men and women to Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Cross-Country Championships in 2020 and 2021. Both teams qualified for the NAIA National Meet. He was awarded back-to-back RRAC Coach of the Year honors for both teams.

Torres led the women's track and field team to a first-place finish in 2021, when he was honored with the RRAC Coach of the Year. The men were the runners-up in 2021. In 2022, the women finished in fourth place, while the men were third-place finishers. The women's 4x100m Relay Team qualified for outdoor nationals, while Jose Zarate qualified for the indoor nationals in the 3000m.

Both cross-country teams and the women's track and field team earned NAIA Scholar Team honors in 2021, and the women's cross-country and track and field teams earned NAIA Scholar Team recognition in 2022.

Torres participated in the cross-country team in 2016 and the track and field team in 2016-2017.

His awards as part of the track and field team include All-Conference in the 5k and 10k in 2016; the 10k in 2017 and the 3k, 5k and 10k in 2018. He was a Scholar-Athlete in 2017 and 2018. As part of the cross-country team, Torres received All-Conference honors in 2016 and was a Scholar-Athlete in 2016.

Torres received his Bachelor of Psychology in May of 2018 and is currently working on his Master of Fine Arts at Texas State University.
