OLLU Inducts Tiffany Subia and Kristina Tiffany to OLLU Softball Hall of Fame Class of 2023

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 21, 2023) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) softball team welcomed alumni members from 2009 through 2023 for a full day of activities that culminated in the announcement of the Third Annual OLLU Softball Alumni Class of 2023 this afternoon. 

The alumni from 2009-2023 challenged the Saints 2023-2024 squad for a friendly scrimmage. The game finished with a 1-0 win for the Saints after Marissa Bradley swung the ball over the fence for a homer. 

Attending and participating in this year's Alumni Day included:

After the game, the 2023 Championship T-shirts were distributed to the members of the historic 2022-2023 season. 

The Third Annual OLLU Softball Hall of Fame Class of 2023 ceremony took place by the pitcher's circle. This year's class included Tiffany (Stritz) Subia and Kristina Tiffany.

TIFFANY SUBIA

Tiffany (Stritz) Subia was part of the inaugural team from 2009 and pitched through 2011 for two seasons. The Houston native graduated from OLLU in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology. In 2020, Subia received her MBA in Healthcare Administration from OLLU with a 4.0 GPA.  She played in 42 games each season for a total of 84 games. Her awards include:

  • 2010 and 2011 Red River Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team
  • 2010 Red River Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week awards
  • 2011 Red River Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week awards
  • 2010 and 2021 Red River Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete
  • She is 4th all-time in ERA at 2.52
  • On March 6, 2010, she had a no-hitter

Subia was part of the team that was second in the regular season with a record of 22-6 and was the conference tournament semifinalists in 2010 finishing with an overall 30-16 record. In 2011, her team finished second in the regular season with a 16-5 record and was the tournament semifinalists finishing the season with a 26-20 overall record. 

Subia is in her sixth season coaching softball at the College of Southern Nevada in Henderson, Nev. (near Las Vegas). She married her wife Britney in 2019. They had their first girl Braelynn in 2020, and in 2022, they welcomed their second daughter, Logyn.

KRISTINA TIFFANY

Kristina Tiffany played from 2015 through 2018 as an infielder. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2018.  The San Antonio native played in 135 games. Her accomplishments include: 

  • 2015 National Fastpitch Coaches Association-NAIA All-Region Second Team
  • 2017 NFCA NAIA All-Region Second Team
  • 2018 NFCA NAIA All-Region Second Team
  • 2015 Red River Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team
  • 2017 Red River Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team
  • 2018 Red River Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team
  • 2017 Red River Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team
  • 2015 Conference Player of the Week
  • 2018 Conference Scholar-Athlete

Her records include:

  • 4th all-time in batting average at .363
  • 4th all-time in doubles with 43
  • 5th all-time in RBIs with 110
  • 5th all-time in slugging percentage at .611
  • 2nd in season in batting average at .440 in 2018
  • Tied for 1st in season in doubles with 19 in 2018
  • 5th in season in doubles with 15 in 2017
  • 2nd in season in walks with 26 in 2015
  • 4th in season in on-base percentage at .482 in 2018
  • 1st in season in assists with 126 in 2017
  • 1st in most hits in a game with 5 on March 13, 2018
  • 1st in most doubles in a game with 3 on March 13, 2018 

Tiffany was part of the team that was the regular-season runners-up with a 19-5 record and tournament runners-up in 2015 with an overall 39-14 record. Her team in 2016 finished third in the regular season with a record of 19-9 and was the tournament finalist, finishing with an overall 28-20 record. The team in 2017 was fourth in the regular season with a record of 14-12 and was tournament semifinalists finishing with an overall 25-22. Finally, her team in 2018 was the regular-season champions with a record of 18-6 and tournament semifinalists with an overall record of 24-11. Her teams in 2015-2018 were NAIA Scholar-Teams. 

Tiffany resides in San Antonio and is a special education teacher at Edison High School in the San Antonio Independent School District. She is also Assistant Softball and Basketball Coach. 

The legacy of Tiffany Subia and Kristina Tiffany will live on at OLLU and at this softball field for years to come. After speeches from both, the two made their way to behind the dugout for the unveiling of their banners. 

The event ended with a luncheon in the Mall Area will alumni, current Saints players, families and staff.
