OLLU Women's Basketball Races Past Jarvis

HAWKINS, TEXAS (Dec. 11, 2022) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's basketball team remained undefeated in Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) play with a 70-50 victory over Jarvis Christian University (JCU) on Saturday. The Saints jump to 7-3 overall and 4-0 in conference. The Bulldogs drop to 4-4 overall and 1-3 in the RRAC.

Head Coach Tanya Ray commented, "We came out and played together and executed our game plan. It was a good road win."

History

The Saints were 23-3 against the Bulldogs prior to the game.

Offensive/defensive standouts

Natalia Trevino led the Saints with 24 points. Makayla White had a team-high nine rebounds. Angeline Sanchez finished with eight assists.

Ne'khyria Rogers led Jarvis with 17 points. Faith Robinson grabbed 13 rebounds for the Bulldogs and added 15 points for a double-double. Robinson and Jazmin Sanders led the team with two assists apiece.

Inside the box

OLLU combined for 25-of-59 shooting for 42.4 percent, 4-of-16 from three-point range for 25 percent and 16-of-22 from the three-throw line for 72.7 percent. Jarvis shot 21-of-68 for 30.9 percent, 2-of-12 three pointers for 16.7 percent and 6-of-9 from the free-throw line for 66.7 percent.

The Saints grabbed 31 rebounds while Jarvis collected 42.
