Chaney arrived at OLLU from Great Hearts Western Hills, where she was a physical education (PE) teacher and club coordinator from 2022-2023. Before that, she was the athletic director at Brooks Academy from 2019-2021. Chaney was the Dean of Students at the Brooks Academy of Science and Engineering in San Antonio from 2019-2021. She headed the women's club basketball team at the University of the Incarnate Word for four years.

In addition, Chaney was the PE teacher/coach at Brooks Academy (2016-2019) and the School of Excellence (2015-2016).

Her collegiate experience includes basketball assistant coach positions at Rogers State University in Claremore, Okla. (2013-2015), and Texas Lutheran University in Seguin (2008-2013).

A native of San Antonio, Chaney received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Texas Lutheran University.
