Saints Women's Golf Take Fourth Place at Legends Cup

KINGSLAND, TEXAS (Oct. 4, 2023) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's golf team finished in fourth place at the Legends Cup near Austin at the Legends Golf Club. The event was sponsored by the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB).

Head Coach Arnie Martinez commented, "I am proud of our women. We've been working on overcoming adversity, and they put a great effort out there. They did a lot of important things right. We'll continue to focus on the small things that give us trouble and be more efficient in the future. Maddie played well and had the lowest round she's shot here at OLLU. I am happy for her. We are very close to where we want to be as a unit. I'm excited for the future. Go, Saints!"

Winning the tournament was UMHB with a final score of 307/291=598. Hardin Simmons University followed at 317/308=625 and the University of California – Santa Cruz at 310/318=628. OLLU scored at 322/318=640 and the Saints were followed by Schreiner University at 327/321=648, University of Dallas at 328/329=657, Millsaps College at 336/336=671, East Texas Baptist University at 329/345=674, Texas Lutheran University at 344/340=684, McMurry University at 373/384=745 and Centenary College at 361/384=745.

Leading the way for the Saints was Madelyn Miller, who shot a 81 first round and 75 second round for a final 156 for a tie for 10th place. Annabelle Reyna whot a 79 first round and 81 second round for a final 160 for a tie for 18th place. Next was Kendall Ward (81/80=161), Ceci Lattuada (81/82=163), Grayson Weiler (83/84=167) and Alexis Calzada (85-867=172).
