Saints Women Crush Texas College 14-0

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 13, 2022) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's soccer team crushed Texas College 14-0 in a Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) matchup. The victory is the largest against the winless Steers in history and moves the Saints to 6-3-4 overall and 4-1-2 in the RRAC.

Texas College drops to 1-7 overall and 0-5 in conference. The Steers sit at the bottom of the conference standings, while the Saints are one and a half games away from the lead spot and in fourth place.

The Saints are 14-0 against the Steers.

Basics

The Saints took just two and a half minutes from the opening kickoff to score. Irania Acosta found the net on an assist from Kaitlyn Olivas. The Saints took four shots on goal before they were able to score again. Olivas shot the ball into the target after a passs from Sarah Miles.

The Saints continued to dominate with five more shots, two on goal, before Olivas made her second goal without an assist.

Haven Ortiz sent the ball into the net at the 15th mark, also un assisted. Dusty Van Huss followed 10 minutes later. The Saints did not score again until the 40th minutes when Bethany Garr found the net unassisted. With less than two minutes remaining in the half, Viviana Gutierrez scored the seventh goal for the Saints.

Kaitlyn recorded her first career hat trick when she scored first in the second half on an assist from Miles.

Kyleigh Spree-Kols took her turn scoring at the 56th minute. Riley Perez was next with a goal on an assist from London Suarez.

Perez scored again  at the 62nd minute on an assist from Ez Valles. Viviana Gutierrez landed one in the net at the 77th minute. Emerson Weiler followed with an unassisted goal in the 84th minute, and Liliana Martinez finished the match with the Saints' 14th goal with less than a minute left in the game.
