SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 24, 2024) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's soccer team outshot LSU-Alexandria (LSUA) 11-10, but one goal was the difference. The 1-0 loss moves the Saints to 7-4-2 overall and 6-3-1 in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC), currently placing them in sixth place. LSUA improves to 7-5-2 overall and 6-2-2 in conference. The Generals are in fifth place in the conference.

The Saints are 9-3-1 against the Generals. Last year, the Saints lost 4-1.
Game recap
The Saints displayed a strong defense, with Lyndee Rheinberger leading the offensive charge with four shots in the first three minutes of the period. Kaitlyn Olivas also contributed to the offensive efforts, while the Generals were limited to just three attempts. Despite this, the Generals managed to score a goal in the 26th minute, which ultimately decided the game.
The game was well-matched throughout the 90 minutes of play, with the Saints taking seven shots in the first half and the Generals trying on six. In the second period, both teams took four shots.
Valadez saved seven shots for the Saints, while LSUA keeper Victoria Webber also saved seven.
Olivas led the Saints with five shots, three on goal. Rheinberger tallied three shots, two on goal.
