Women's Tennis Finishes Play at UIW Fall Tournament

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 6, 2024) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's tennis team participated at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) Fall Tournament from Oct. 4-6. The Saints competed against UIW and St. Mary's University (StMU). The Saints won 10 matches and lost 16. 

Marie Peters won the consolation bracket in the west draw by defeating teammate Alexandra Mille. 

Head Coach Dave Watts commented, "It was a long but productive weekend for the ladies. Lucia Popluharova had a solid tournament by making the semifinal. She eventually lost in a third set tiebreaker against UIW's number one player. I thought Alexandra Mille and Marie Peters did a good job in their doubles matches this weekend by winning two of three. Ely Laure Ah-sou competed very well the whole weekend. She won a nail-biter on Saturday against UIW. I'm proud of the progress we have made this fall. The ladies deserve some much needed rest."
