Saints Women Place Sixth in Cactus Cup in Kingsville

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS (April 15, 2023) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) placed sixth of eight at the 15^th Annual Cactus Cup sponsored by Texas A&M University – Kingsville (TAMUK).

The University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley won the meet with 140 points, followed by the University of the Incarnate Word with 135 points, TAMUK with 118 points, the University of Texas at San Antonio with 99 points, Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi with 62 points and OLLU with 37.50 points. Following OLLU were Trinity University with 29.50 points and UACJ with six points.

Head Coach Patrick Torres commented, "We had some good stuff happen before the conference meet and dealing with delays and bad weather was not easy, so I'm proud of how we handled it."

The Saints will send a few members of the team to the J Fred Duckett Twilight hosted by Rice University in Houston on April 22. After that, the team will prepare to host and participate in the Red River Athletic Conference Championships April 27-29.
