Several Records Broken at Texas State Meet By Saints Women
SAN MARCOS (March 23, 2024) – The Our Lady of the Lake University women's track and field team participated in the Charles Austin Classic sponsored by Texas State University.
Head Coach Patrick Torres commented, "We got a qualifier in the relay and had some outstanding PRs. I'm very excited for where this squad is coming into the Texas Relays. This is far and away the best group we've had at OLLU."
Several OLLU records were broken at the meet on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, Victoria Sweeney broke the record in the javelin throw with a mark of 35.21. Kristen Torres' time in the 1500m is a record setting 4:48.99. On Saturday, Madison Perez broke the 800m record with a time of 2:16.42. The 4x100m relay team consisting of Larrisa McHenry, JaDae Freeman, Kamdyn Burgess and Madison Walker set the record with a time of 47.42. They also marked a National "B" Standard.

What's next
The Saints will participate in two events this upcoming week. From March 27-30, team members will travel to Austin for the Texas Relays sponsored by the University of Texas. From March 28-30, some team members will travel to San Marcos for the Bobcat Invitational.
