
OLLU's Chante Mathews and Aziza Clark Selected as Track and Field Weekly Award Winners
WACO, TEXAS (April 23, 2024) – Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week have been announced for April 15-21 with this week's honorees including Aziza Clark for track and Chante Mathews for field. This is the seventh and final set of track & field weekly awards for the 2024 RRAC outdoor season.
Clark set a new school record in the 400-meter hurdles with an NAIA A-qualifying time. The freshman from Ajman, United Arab Emirates, posted a time of 1:01.71 to finish fifth in the Duckett Invitational. Clark also reached 12th place in the 100-meter hurdles.
Mathews placed sixth in the long jump against NCAA Division I competition at the Rice meet. The graduate student from San Antonio leaped to 5.47 meters against a field of 21 competitors. Mathews also showed her versatility by finishing 15th in the javelin.
