Four OLLU Volleyball Players Earn Academic All-District® Awards

SAN ANTONIO (Dec. 13, 2023) - The 2023 Academic All-District® Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Outstanding student-athletes are nominated by members of CSC for Academic All-District® recognition by communications directors and must have a minimum 3.50 GPA and meet high athletic standards. (25,000+ nominations annually). Our Lady of the Lake University's (OLLU) Patty Constantin is a 17-year member, while Ryan O'Keefe became a member in 2023.

The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.

Selected from OLLU are the following:  

Sophomore Mia Dorsey, an Individualized Business major, has been part of the team since 2022.  She played in 25 matches, had 299 kills, 17 assists, 16 service aces, 192 digs and 51 blocks. She earned a 3.69 GPA.

Senior Madalyn Gonzalez, a Marketing major, has been part of the team since 2019. She played in 31 matches, had 174 kills, 50 digs and 84 blocks. She marked a 3.83 GPA.

Sophomore Lauren Reynard, a Business and Computer Information and Systems and Security major, has been part of the team since 2022. She played in 29 matches, had 61 kills, 1,106 assists, 30 service aces, 190 digs and 24 blocks. She earned a 4.00 GPA.

Junior Tina Trevino, a Criminal Justice and Psychology major, has been part of the team since 2021. She played in 31 matches this season and accumulated 74 assists, 18 service aces and 519 digs. She earned a 3.85 GPA.
