Francis and Trevino Win Red River Weekly Awards

WACO, TEXAS (Oct. 21, 2024) – Mia Francis of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) earned the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week award for Oct. 14-20, while Tina Trevino claimed another RRAC Defender of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the ninth set of weekly winners for the 2024 RRAC volleyball season.  

Francis blasted 28 kills as the Saints won two matches over Huston-Tillotson University (HTU), 3-1. The junior outside hitter from San Antonio averaged 3.5 kills per set and hit .431 for the week. Francis is fourth in the conference with 226 kills on the season. OLLU has now won nine straight matches and stands at 9-1 in the RRAC and 16-7 overall.

Trevino captured her sixth award of the season with 47 digs in the victories over HTU. The senior libero from Laredo, Texas, had 32 digs in Saturday's match and averaged 5.9 digs per set. Trevino leads the RRAC in digs (518) and digs per set (6.2).
