Bio

RAVEN SWAIN became the first-ever full-time assistant coach for the volleyball team in September 2022. As an outside hitter, Swain played for the Saints team from 2013 through 2017 in 125 matches – most than any other volleyball student-athlete.

Swain comes to OLLU after an assistant coaching job for Roots VBA in Austin, Texas. She also was an assistant coach for Impact VBA in San Antonio. Most recently, Swain was a pharmacy technician for H-E-B in Houston.

Swain had an illustrious collegiate career for the Saints. Her major accomplishments include NAIA All-American in 2017, AVCA All-South Central Region Player of the Year in 2017, All-South Central Region Team in 2016 and 2017, Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) All-Conference First Team in 2016 and 2017, RRAC All-Tournament Team in 2016 and 2017, RRAC Tournament  MVP in 2017, RRAC Player of the Year in 2017 and Four-Time RRAC Scholar-Athlete. Swain was her team's captain for the 2016 and 2017 seasons./

She holds the all-time record for most matches played and is second in most sets played with 416. Swain also holds the following records: all-time digs with 1,188 and season kills with 379. Swain was part of the team that won its first-ever RRAC regular season and tournament title in 2015 and subsequently won in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, the team made it to pool play at the NAIA National Championship Tournament.

Swain received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology from OLLU in 2017. She completed her Master of Science in Health and Human Performance from Texas Southern University in December 2022.
