Women's Cross-Country Competed in NAIA National Championships on Friday
VANCOUVER, WASH. (Nov. 18, 2023) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's cross-country team took 35th place out of 36 teams in the 68th Annual NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championship at Fort Vancouver Historical Course on Friday.
The Saints completed the race with a team score of 880 points in the 6k with a total time of 2:07.40 and an average of 25:32.
Head Coach Patrick Torres said, "Sanai Robinson performed very well on a challenging course. I'm disappointed with the results team wise. We are capable of a much better team race. Our focus now shifts to track and field."
OLLU's Sanai Robinson was the Saints' top finisher with a 63rd place finish of 331 runners. Robinson completed the course with a time of 23:13.0, which sets the OLLU record for best finish at nationals. Sierra Ramirez followed in 238th place at 24:49.7, Viridiana Zuniga in 283rd place at 25:44.3, Leilani Leza in 301st place at 26:25.3 an Daylah Vega in 315th place at 27:28.0. Jocelynn Reyes and Valeria Pena did not finish.
