SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 14, 2023) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's soccer team lost 1-0 against LSU-Shreveport (LSUS) in the first Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) match of the season. The Saints drop to 0-4 while the Pilots jump to 2-2-1.
History
The Saints were 6-5 against the Pilots prior to the match.
Basics
The Pilots' offense in the first half produced five shots and two corner kicks, but the Saints held them scoreless in the frame. OLLU had two shots and Dominic Pena made three saves in net. The Saints weathered the storm in the second half from the Pilots until the 83rd minute. Jack Thomas scored in what would be the game winning goal after holding the Saints scoreless for the final seven minutes. The Saints defense impressed for the majority of the match and Pena finished with six saves. Four different Saints had at least one shot on goal.
