COLUMBUS, GA. (May 25, 2024) - The NAIA No. 1-ranked Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) softball team beat Oregon Tech 3-0 in the NAIA World Series on Saturday. The Saints advance in the championship bracket with the victory. OLLU improves to 55-3 on the season while the Lady Owls drop to 48-11.
History
This was the first meeting between the two programs.
Basics
The Saints scored all three runs in the first frame. Alyssa Flores hit a ground out RBI that scored Cassandra Valdez to put OLLU up 1-0. Kayla Dreese followed with a single that brought home both Ava Hernandez and Natalie Rodriguez. Both runs were unearned due to an error. Valdez pitched a great game backed by 10 strikeouts. She improves to 28-1 in the circle. The three hits by the Saints were tallied by Valdez, Ava Hernandez and Dreese. The rest of the game was scoreless and the Saints won 3-0. OLLU has not allowed a run so far in the tournament after two games.

The Saints face No. 6 seed the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Monday at 7 p.m. Eastern Time. The winner will advance to the championship game.
