SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 4, 2023) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) baseball team was swept by Central Methodist University (CMU) in a four-game series this weekend. The Saints are now 1-6 overall. The Eagles start the season 4-0.
Game One
The Eagles used a strong seventh inning to take game one. They led 1-0 in the third inning after a double by Jeremy Conforti scored Robbie Merced. The Saints responded in the bottom of the inning with Christian Martinez scoring an unearned run. The game remained scoreless until the seventh inning when the Eagles scored three runs. They used a sacrifice fly and a Conforti single to grab a 4-1 advantage. They held the Saints scoreless in the bottom of the frame to win 4-1. Alec Martinez started for the Saints and went two innings with three strikeouts and didn't allow a run. Dominique Boggs finished with the loss after allowing three earned runs in one inning of work.
